DR ALEX COCKCROFT
MBBS - GP Partner
Alex has had the pleasure of being a GP at Perranporth Surgery since 2015.

After initially completing a degree in Psychology at Exeter and Grenoble Universities, he studied Medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School, London graduating in 2007. He is the lead for chronic disease and child safeguarding. He is interested in dermatology, rheumatology and mental health and enjoys his dedicated minor surgery and steroid injection sessions. He enjoys spending time with my family and bulldog. Climbing, surfing, skateboarding and running feature when time allows. He recently tried to play saxophone again but realised that was a mistake...
DR NOOR HAMAD
MRCP nMRCGP - GP Partner
Noor has been working as GP in Perranporth since 2010 (she was also a trainee here). She became a GP Partner in 2021. In her spare time she can be mostly be found in the sea or playing music.

MBBS MRCP MRCGP DTMH - GP Partner
Ed studied medicine at Newcastle University Medical School, graduating in 2010.

Searching for slightly warmer waters, he then moved to Cornwall 2013 where he first completed Core Medical Training and later GP Training having squeezed in cycling the length of India in between! He joined the surgery in October 2021 as a salaried GP before becoming a partner in September 2022. He is currently the lead for the medical students and is interested in how the surgery can support the local community. Outside of work he can be found running on the coast path, attempting to surf or training his new puppy!
DR EMMA DOCHERTY
BM, BMedSci, MRCGP, DFSRH - GP Partner
Emma studied medicine at Southampton University, qualifying in 2012.

She went on to complete her GP training in Cornwall and has worked at Perranporth Surgery since January 2023 as a salaried GP. She has a particular interest in women's health and contraception. Emma joined as a Partner GP in April 2024
DR KAREN MURDOCH
MBBS (London 1987) MRCGP DRCOG - Salaried GP
Karen has worked at Perranporth Surgery since 1997, initially as a salaried GP and then as a partner.

Recently she has reduced her work commitments and is once again salaried. She has variable work days depending on practice needs. Karen has a special interest in Women's Health, including menopause and contraception and undertakes contraceptive procedures (coil and implant fittings/ removals). Karen is married to a local solicitor and for many years has balanced working as a GP with bringing up her 3 boys, the youngest of whom has just left university.
DR LUCY COLLINS
BMBS MRCGP DFSRH - Salaried GP
Lucy studied medicine at Peninsula Medical School, qualifying in 2012.

After spending some time working in the West Midlands he moved back to the South West with his Cornish wife to complete his GP training and has been working as a GP in Cornwall since 2019. He has been a salaried doctor at Perranporth Surgery since September 2022. Outside of work he enjoys travelling, spending time in the sea, and playing the bagpipes.
DR JIM HUDDY
MA MBBS MRCP MRCGP Salaried GP
Jim studied medicine at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew's Hospital gaining his medical degree in 1995.

He has been a salaried GP at Perranporth Surgery since 2007 and works there two days a week. He has an interest in gastroenterology and is an Endoscopist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital
Practice Manager LUCY DAWES DAWES
Lucy has enjoyed working at Perranporth Surgery since 2004, starting as an administrator before becoming a dispenser/dispensary lead.

In 2020 she was made assistant practice manager and is now our practice manager. Lucy has two grown up children and in her spare time enjoys travelling, walking the family’s two dogs and dancing.
Assistant Practice Manager GEMMA MANNING
Gemma joined Perranporth Surgery in October 2023 - Coming from a background of management of a Crematorium and a private ambulance company. Gemma has 3 children and in her spare time enjoys city breaks and dancing.
Nurse DAWN FUELL
Dawn qualified in 1981 in Swindon. She has done various jobs including Air Hostess and School based nurse as well as NHS call handler. Dawn has been at Perranporth for 11 years and her specialty is diabetes and humour!
